RCC stands for Registered Clinical Counsellor. This means I am licensed to work with clients in BC and am credentialed under the BCACC.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a technique developed to help individuals cope with and recover from trauma, especially post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In EMDR sessions, a trained therapist guides clients to focus on traumatic memories while using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, to help process these memories. The goal is to reduce the emotional intensity of these memories and alleviate symptoms like intrusive thoughts and nightmares. EMDR has gained recognition as an effective tool in trauma treatment, and can also be used to treat anxiety, panic disorders, depression, and grief.
